The Basic Life Support (BLS) class has no formal prerequisites and is open to everyone, regardless of their medical background. However, those with a basic understanding of CPR and emergency response may find the material easier to learn.
BLS certification needs to be renewed every two years. Be sure to check the expiration date on your certification card and renew it before it expires, as the AHA no longer provides a grace period.
